Monday was a great day. We spent the morning in Ostroda. Our friends went on boat rides on Ostroda Lake. We enjoyed Polish pizza for lunch then returned to the camp to begin preparing dinner.
One of the the highlights of the trip for the Holocaust survivors is experiencing a genuine Southern BBQ. We had chicken (since pork is not kosher), potato salad, slaw, and strawberry shortcake. We even made sweet tea. It was a beautiful afternoon so we were able to comfortably eat outside. The dinner was a big success, and we enjoyed doing something special for our new friends!
